Scope
This policy describes how Redmonk Studios Pvt. Ltd. (“Redmonk”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit redmonk.in, contact us about a project, work with us as a client or candidate, or subscribe to our journal.
Redmonk is the data controller for the personal information described here. Our registered office is in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Your name, email, company and the contents of any message when you fill in our contact form or email us.
- CV details, work samples and references when you apply for a role.
- Billing details, signed contracts and project briefs when you become a client.
Information we collect automatically
- Page views, approximate location (country/city-level), device and browser info, and on-site actions — collected via Google Analytics (GA4), which sets cookies. Google is not used for advertising or remarketing on this site. See the Cookie Policy for the full list.
- Server logs containing IP address and request metadata, kept for 14 days for abuse and uptime debugging.
Why we collect it
- To reply to you. If you contact us, we use what you sent to write back.
- To deliver projects. Contracts, briefs and project communications are part of doing the work we were hired to do.
- To run hiring. We process applications to evaluate candidates and arrange interviews.
- To improve the site. Aggregate, non-identifying analytics tell us which pages are useful.
- To meet our legal obligations. Tax records, GST returns, statutory filings.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell personal data. We share it only with vetted processors who help us run the studio:
Hosting
Hetzner (EU) — site infrastructure.
Analytics
Google Ireland Ltd. (Google Analytics) — aggregate usage analytics only, no advertising.
Fastmail — hello@ and team mailboxes.
Accounting
Zoho Books — invoicing & ledger.
Project tools
Linear, GitHub, Figma — used per-project under signed DPAs.
Banking & tax
Disclosed to authorities only when statutorily required.
If we ever need to share data outside this list (e.g. a new sub-processor for a specific project), we’ll tell the relevant client in advance.
How long we keep it
- Contact-form messages: 24 months from last contact.
- Candidate records: 12 months after the role closes, unless you ask us to keep you on file longer.
- Client records: 7 years after the project ends, to meet Indian tax law.
- Server logs: 14 days.
Your rights
Under Indian law (DPDP Act 2023) and relevant frameworks where you live, you can ask us to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that’s wrong or out of date.
- Delete data we no longer have a legal reason to keep.
- Withdraw consent for anything you previously opted into.
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
Email hello@redmonk.in with the request. We respond within 14 working days.
Security
We follow boring, well-established practices: TLS everywhere, hardware-backed 2FA on every account, encrypted laptop disks, role-scoped access to client systems, and quarterly access reviews. Project credentials live in 1Password and are rotated when people leave.
If something does go wrong, we’ll tell you and the relevant authority within 72 hours, in line with the law.
Children
Our site and services are not directed at children under 18. We don’t knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe we have, please contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If we change anything material, we’ll bump the version number, update the “effective” date at the top, and send a heads-up to anyone with an active project or subscription.
